Summit Medical Specialists has two physicians providing obstetric and gynecologic care to women from puberty through menopause. Whether you're ready for your first gynecologic exam or need help with urinary incontinence, our health care physicians treat every patient with respect and compassion.
Our general gynecology services include routine gynecologic exams, urinary incontinence testing, pap smears, and birth control. For pregnant patients, we offer a wide range of obstetrics services to keep both mother and baby healthy. These services include prenatal care, ultrasounds, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections. If you need help conceiving, we also offer infertility services and genetic screening programs.
Summit Medical Specialists also offers urinary incontinence surgery, and typical gynecologic surgeries including hysterectomies, diagnostic laparoscopy, endometrial ablation (NovaSure), and surgical treatment for endometriosis.
Obstetric and gynecological care is provided by Dr. Maria Smith and Dr. Suzanne Rashidian. Dr. Smith is Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology through the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She attended medical school at the University of Louisville and completed a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Louisville in 2003, which is when she started practicing in Owensboro. When she's not providing high-quality OB/GYN care, Dr. Smith enjoys working on her farm and spending time with her daughter and five grandchildren.
Dr. Rashidian is Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology through the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians & Gynecologists. She attended Pikeville School of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2007, and completed a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Botsford Hospital in 2012. Dr. Rashidian also started practicing in Owensboro in 2012. When she's not helping patients take control of their health, Dr. Rashidian loves spending time with her husband and three children.
