Summit Medical Specialists has two family nurse practitioners (FNPs) on staff to provide family medicine services to men and women. Family medicine focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating illnesses and injuries, both acute (short-term) and chronic (long-term). When you choose Summit Medical Specialists as your primary care provider, you'll be able to get physical exams, preventive services, and gynecologic exams all in one place. We also offer sick visits for patients with fever, cough, body aches, and other signs and symptoms of acute illness.
For patients with chronic medical conditions, we offer comprehensive management to keep the symptoms under control and prevent each condition from worsening. Our care providers have experience managing patients with high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and other chronic medical problems. If necessary, we can also order X-rays, lab tests, and other diagnostic services.
Stacey B. Fazenbaker, MD, Emily Clark, APRN, and Jennifer L. Meunier, APRN, provide many of our family medicine services. Dr. Fazenbaker completed her training at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1999 and her residency at Trover Foundation Family Practice in 2002. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, as well as a Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner, IFMCP. She currently resides in Owensboro with her husband, Bryan. They have 2 daughters, Sydni and Emmy. She brings 19 years of experience in primary care and practiced in her hometown of Madisonville before recently joining Summit Medical Specialists. During her time off, she enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Emily is a Certified Nurse Practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and completed her FNP training at the University of Southern Indiana in 2011. After working as a registered nurse at Owensboro Health, she joined Dr. Maria Smith, one of the founders of Summit Medical Specialists, as a nurse practitioner. Emily loves spending time with her husband and three sons.
Jennifer L. Meunier, APRN, is also a Certified Nurse Practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. From 2012 to 2018, Jennifer worked as a registered nurse at Deaconess Hospital. After completing her FNP training at the University of Southern Indiana in 2018, she joined Summit Medical Specialists. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and three children
